Dusting the Web(s)

Returning to my blog after nearly one year is mostly like returning home after having been away for a long time...Things are like you left them, yet there is a lot of work to do!
There are no cobwebs and no spiders to chase (luckily!), but the place looks rather abandoned and there are many details that look out of place and show nobody had been here recently: broken links, links to blogs that had not been updated for ages, "work-in-progress" parts that haven't progressed at all, etc... And now it's the moment to fix everything before going on.
I think the most urgent thing to do is to restore images... Lots of the photos I had posted in the past were links to to actual photos I had on Webshots, and with the closing of that site they have become unavailable and are just broken links at the moment (actually, to be precise, Webshots has not closed down, but has been turned into a different kind of service, and anyway all the links are broken all the same as URLs have changed).
As statistic say many people come here from Google searches on topics that  now have lost all their images, this is certainly urgent!
 I've also started skimming my old list of blogs I was following (more than 220!)...Some of them have been abandoned or closed, others have changed topics (interests change!), so I must verify if some can be deleted. Yesterday started to go  through their list, I deleted a few but  I added just as many I had just discovered ! There are lots of  great blogs I want to follow...
And of course  I'll have to go on uploading my scans (photos, actually...) of the old embroidery magazines,"Il Ricamo" and "Il Ricamo Illustrato" of course! I still have many issues already photographed and not yet uploaded on MediaFire (and more yet to photograph...)
So, stay around!  Everything will be fixed soon :-)

Tornare al mio blog dopo quasi un anno e' un po' come ritornare a casa dopo esser stati via per molto tempo... Le cose sono come erano state lasciate, ma c'e' un sacco di lavoro da fare!
Non ci sono ragnatele e ragni da eliminare (per fortuna!) ma il posto sembra abbandonato e ci sono molti dettagli che appaiono fuori posto e mostrano che nessuno e' stato qui di recente: link interrotti, link a blog che non vengono aggiornati da secoli, "Work-in-progress" che non sono andati avanti per niente, ecc...E ora e' il momento di metere tutto a posto prima di procedere.
Penso che la cosa piu' urgente da fare sia  ripristinare le immagini...Molte foto che ho pubblicato in passato erano link alle foto che tenevo su Webshot, e con la chiusura del sito sono diventate inaccessibili e vengono mostrate come link interrotti (in realta', per essere precisi, Webshot non ha chiuso ma e' stato trasformato in un tipo di servizio diverso...Ad ogni modo tutti i link non sono piu validi perche' gli URL sono cambiati).
Siccome le statistiche mostrano che molte persone arrivano qui cercando con Google argomenti che ora hanno perso tutte le foto, questo  lavoro e' sicuramente urgente!

Ho anche iniziato a rivedere la mia vecchia lista di blog che stavo seguendo (piu' di 220!) Alcuni sono stati abbandonati o chiusi, altri hanno cambiato argomento  (gli interessi cambiano!), cosi' devo verificare se qualcuno puo' essere cancellato..Ieri ne ho cancellati alcuni, ma ne ho aggiunti altrettanti che ho appena scoperto!  Ci sono un sacco di blog bellissimi che vorrei seguire...

E naturalmente dovro' andare avanti a caricare le mie scansioni (fotografie, veramente) delle vecchie riviste di ricamo, "Il Ricamo" e "Il Ricamo Illustrato"! Ho ancora molti numeri che sono gia' stato fotografati a non ancora caricati su MediaFire ( e molti altri ancora da fotografare....)
Qundi, restate nei paraggi! Tutto verra' sistemato presto :-)
